altRestoring America's Biblical Foundations

The Providential View of History
Part I & II

Ruth J. Smith

History for many has been the study of dull facts and dates because the cause − God's Hand – has been ignored. Having a Biblical view of history provides meaning, significance and purpose for knowing the past. He has made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. Psalm 111:4. A Biblical view of history prompts us to set our hope in God, to keep his commandments, and to trust Him for the future. A truly Providential View of history enables us to recognize the power of Christ and Christianity, and the influence of the Word of God upon both men and nations.
