Mary-Elaine Swanson

 

Mary-Elaine Swanson is the author of the award-winning book, The Education of James Madison: A Model for Today and co-author of The American Covenant: The Untold Story. She has just completed her long-awaited book, John Locke: Philosopher of the American Revolution. Long active in writing and lecturing on American History, her biographies of American historians appear in Verna M. Hall's compilations, The Christian History of the Constitution of the United States of America: Christian Self-Government; The Christian History of the American Revolution, and George Washington: The Character and Influence of One Man. She served as Vice-President of the American Christian History Institute which has published her Study Guide to Volume 2 of Miss Hall's Christian History series, titled The History of the Constitution of the United States of America: Christian Self-Government with Union. Articles by Mrs. Swanson have appeared in FACE Journals and her talk, "James Madison and the Presbyterian Idea of Man and Government," given at a symposium at the University of Virginia, appears in the book Religion and Political Culture in Jefferson's Virginia, published by Rowman & Littlefield, Lanham, MD 20706. In 2011, God called Mrs. Swanson home to be with Him.
