Ps. 78:7 This is accomplished, not by teaching dates, facts, names, and events, with no consideration for their cause and effect; but rather by teaching how to reason from cause to effect in historic events, discerning the governmental principles that bring forth liberty, and gaining an understanding of the major events of history.
